Well, well... I went and saw the new 007 adventure "Quantum of Solace". I will say that I was pleasantly surprised with how good this one was compared to "Casino Royale". The story for me seemed to flow so much better than the previous one and there was action from start to stop. So that was a big plus for me. (I was never one to sit and watch an extended poker scene in a flick, if I wanted to do that I'd watch ESPN...) But overall a good flick to sit and chomp on some popping corn.
I guess the jury is still out on Daniel Craig as 007, he's one you either love or hate I guess... But it's been said that you're always more partial to the Bond that you grew up with. Great example is my Mom is a Sean Connery fan, although she liked Roger Moore as well. I grew up on the Roger Moore iteration of Bond although I thoroughly enjoy Sean Connery's work as well. I didn't get into Timothy Dalton or Pierce Brosnan. Just something about them that I couldn't get into... I think I still enjoy Roger Moore's version of Bond more because he was a comedic Bond. Throwing out one liners that made me laugh. Connery's Bond was smooth and cool.
But I will say, one thing I miss from the old movies was the gadgets that "Q" used to make for Bond. Although Desmond Llewelyn has passed on you can't tell me that they couldn't find another dude to make cool gadgets for Bond??? Heck they replaced Felix Lighter more times than I care to count!!! And apparently he got a tan from the early years... lol!
Anyway enough nerding out about Bond films, if you're looking for a good popcorn flick this is one to check out! It ain't gonna win an Oscar but it's a pretty good action flick to veg out for a couple of hours!
